2.3 BUILT-IN STARTUP BALANCING
The WHEELSTER® has a built-in Startup Balancing feature which may be turned on or off via the WHEELSTER® itself. This feature enhances the unit’s self-balancing feature by further stabilizing the board and ensuring that the pedals always face up. By default, this feature is turned on. With this feature on, if the rider falls or otherwise dismounts the unit while moving over an incline, the unit may continue to move on its own as it attempts to balance resulting in damage to others, surrounding obstacles, and/or the unit itself.
If you decide to use this feature, it is recommeded to ride only on surfaces which are completely flat with stable terrain. When the unit is on and this feature is on, do not place your hands on or attempt to grasp the unit anywhere near the wheels or fenders as doing so may cause the wheels to spin on their own for a brief moment. If lifting the unit, turn it off before lifting. Do not lift or carry the unit when this feature is on and the board is powered on.
Failure to adhere to these warnings and/or instructions will result in injuries including but not limited to: abrasions, lacerations, smashed fingers and/or amputation of fingers, injury of others, and damage to surrounding objects.
III – HOW TO RIDE
Get ready to ride with WHEELSTER®! The instructions below will ensure that you have a comfortable and safe riding experience with your WHEELSTER®. Please read carefully.
3.1 OPERATING STEPS
Before attempting to ride, charge the WHEELSTER® with the included charging adapter. Charge time can take up to 3 hours. For detailed information on how to charge see Section 5.1.
1. Press the power button to turn WHEELSTER® on.
2. Step on one pedal to trigger the sensor. The system will enter self-balancing mode. Then, step on the second pedal with your other foot quickly.
3. Stand upright but relaxed. Do not make any sudden or jerking movements.
The WHEELSTER® has 4 sensors below the pedals. When the rider steps on a pedal, the WHEELSTER® will adjust itself to balance automatically.
When riding WHEELSTER®, you must make sure both feet are touching the pedals for proper detection. Do not put other objects on the pedals as this could cause WHEELSTER® to lock or move on its own.
+ Do not tilt forward or backwards beyond 10 degrees, as the WHEELSTER® may malfunction.
+ Avoid uneven or rocky surfaces as the WHEELSTER® may not function properly.
+ Avoid hills or slopes
+ When the rider exceeds the maximum speed, the WHEELSTER® may sound a warning alarm.
3.2 DIAGRAM OF OPERATION
The WHEELSTER® Hoverboard self-balances and moves because of Dynamic Equilibrium. This is generated by the shifting of your body weight. The WHEELSTER® uses an internal gyroscope with acceleration sensors to move based on your center of gravity. When you lean forward, it will sense your actions and accelerate. When you need to turn, slow down and gently shift the weight on your left or right foot to turn towards the opposite direction
Shift your weight forward to move directly ahead.
Align your body to an upright, straight position.
Shift your weight slightly on the left pedal to turn left.
Shift your weight slightly on the right pedal to turn right.
STEPPING OFF THE WHEELSTER®
Make sure the WHEELSTER® is completely stopped, then step back with your dominant foot first then quickly step off with the other foot. Please be careful!
The WHEELSTER® has an dynamic stabilization system that keeps you upright. However, it will stop detecting you if you lean too far left or right or if you take a foot off of the hoverboard. Slow down before turning or you may fall off.
+ When riding at higher speeds, avoid turning too fast as this may result in accidents.
+ Avoid riding sideways or turning on slopes. The self-balancing sensors may malfunction and may require recalibration.
+ Do not step on the center pivot point of the WHEELSTER®.
+ If the WHEELSTER® flips over or rotates more than 180 degrees. motor and riding capability will be disabled. To restore normal functions, power off the unit then and power the unit back on. After this, continue to ride as normal.
If your WHEELSTER® seems to pull to the left or right during your ride, you may need to recalibrate its sensors. The process requires a flat stable surface and a level. Levels may be purchased separately at most hardware stores or level apps may be downloaded with most smartphones. To calibrate your unit, follow the instructions below.
1. Power your WHEELSTER® off.
2. Rotate the WHEELSTER® until both pedals are level over the ground. For best results, use a level.
3. While the WHEELSTER® remains level, hold the power button down to turn on the unit and keep holding the button down.
4. Wait an additional 10 seconds and you will hear a single beep. Release the power button.
5. Press the power button again to turn the WHEELSTER® off.
6. Once again, press the power button to turn on your newly calibrated WHEELSTER®.
If the WHEELSTER® is still not calibrated correctly, repeat step 1 to 6 or contact customer support for additional assistance.
IV – SAFE RIDING TECHNIQUES CAUTION
Although the WHEELSTER® is designed with gyroscopic balancing technology in order to maintain maximum stability, it is still possible to “override” the WHEELSTER® and tip over when riding too fast. Practicing these techniques can help ensure that you have a safe, fun riding experience.
+ All riders of all ages must wear appropriate clothing and safety gear including knee pads, elbow pads, and an approved helmet.
+ When going through entryways, remember you are taller. + Avoid wearing anything that can drape over or get caught into/under the wheels.
+ Keep your feet on the pedals. Taking your feet off the WHEELSTER® while riding is incredibly dangerous.
+ Ride on even pavement or smooth roads. Relax your legs while riding and keep your knees slightly bent. This helps maintain balance when you encounter uneven ground.
+ Ensure your speed is safe to yourself and others, and be ready to stop at any time.
+ When riding near others, keep a safe distance to avoid collisions.
+ Be aware of your surroundings at all times. Your eyes are your best tool to safely avoid obstacles and unsafe surfaces.
+ Wear flat, close-toed shoes to maintain flexibility and stability.
+ Stay in open spaces and flat areas. Avoid steep slopes or areas with traffic areas until you’re familiar with rifing.
+ The WHEELSTER® can only support the weight of one person at a time.
+ Remember, only ride the WHEELSTER® where it is permitted. You MUST comply with local laws and give way to pedestrians.
Never ride at high speeds on uneven terrain or slopes.
Never perform stunts or turn abruptly without checking your surroundings.
Never carry one or more passengers on the WHEELSTER® with you.
Never carry heavy items while riding. Never ride in the rain, dark, or dimly lit areas.
Never use the WHEELSTER® to do anything that may cause personal injury or property damage.
Never ride backwards for long distances or at high speeds.
Never step off the WHEELSTER® when it is in motion.
Never place anything on the rider detection pads except your feet. Doing so could interfere with the Rider Detection system and may allow the WHEELSTER® to travel on its own, risking collision with a person or property and causing injury or damage.
Never operate your WHEELSTER® near flammable vapor, liquids, dust, or other fire hazards.
Never ride your WHEELSTER® after consumption of alcohol, drugs, or while intoxicated. You can be arrested for drunk driving.
FAILURE TO USE COMMON SENSE AND HEED THE ABOVE WARNINGS INCREASES THE RISK OF SERIOUS INJURY, OR IN VERY RARE CASES, DEATH. USE WITH APPROPRIATE CAUTION AND SERIOUS ATTENTION TO SAFE OPERATION.

Topography Rough terrain or slopes can decrease your range due to motor use. Ride on smooth or even roads for maximum performance.
Weight The weight of the rider can influence your distance
Temperature Avoid too hot or too cold environments, as the motor will decrease power to protect itself.
Max speed and duration were obtained through continuous lab tests under ideal conditions. Actual performance may be reduced based on a variety of factors. In order to provide full knowledge to our customers, we have provided maximum performance information.
